Film Day

Ok, so here’s the deal. I know photographer’s blogs are often filled with empty promises of these lofty goals to blog “x” amount of times… I have done this many times as well. Ha. You guys are very patient with us. But the goal I’m about to set in front of myself is a personal challenge so I’m excited to hold to it. What I want to do is shoot at least one roll of film a week and post a few of the shots here for the next month or so. These shots wont be my commercial work but rather intimate, normal glimpses of day to day life. (So yes, you will probably see a lot of shots of Brooke, my cats, accidental shutter releases etc.) They will be shot with multiple cameras and multiple formats.

The reason I am doing this is simple. To push myself. In this VERY saturated photography world I feel it a duty to embrace the art whole heartedly. I am blessed to have photography support me and I LOVE the art. I definitely agree with Chase Jarvis when he says the best camera is the one with you at all times. So with this I am going to have a camera with me at all times and trying to capture moments that I don’t get to attempt with my commissioned work. So here is my first roll. Yes, shocker, a lot of my favorite model.. hah.

These were shot with my little minolta 35mm. I love the “happy accidents” I get with light leaks and such. Have a great day!

Brilliant concept, and very happy we get to see the world through your eyes! And this is, of course, stating the obvious, but Brooke is so beautiful!

    Trev,

It’s so neat that you’re breaking out of a “rut” and stetching yourself. It so nice to do things for yourself sometimes. And I’ve heard that as a photographer it’s always good to take at least ONE photo a day. So good luck on your quest!

    So, good. You rule.

more than gorgeous, they have a lot of heart in them and I’m not sure if it’s because you were photo-ing your fav subject but the photos really communicate more than just what the image is.
